Guardiola withdraws the Extremadura budgets for 2025 after failing to obtain the support of Vox or the PSOE
Parliamentary weakness has taken its toll on the PP of Extremadura. The Board has withdrawn the 2025 budget project after failing to reach an agreement with either Vox or the PSOE for the accounts to go forward in the plenary session that was going to be held this Thursday and Friday in the Assembly.
An extraordinary government council was held this Wednesday that decided to throw in the towel to try to provide new budgets to the region, so those for 2024 were extended. According to the Minister of the Treasury, Elena Manzano, the agreement that was was closing with the PSOE, and for which both the PP and the socialists had made concessions, it affected some 58 amendments of the almost 800 presented by the PSOE, which was kept alive for Friday's vote and its approval would have substantially modified the budget. That is in the event that Vox or Unidas por Extremadura allow one to go ahead.
The Government of María Guardiola, in a minority since the extreme right broke the pact, presented a bill in a minority and without consensus, but winking at Vox, a priority partner at all times in the negotiations, and then at the PSOE to manage to save budgets with very few hours of margin.
