Netanyahu says that Israel has killed the leader of Hamas

The Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has assured this afternoon in a debate in the Parliament Hebrero that Israel has killed Mohamed Sinwar, the leader of Hamas, according to Reuters, although sources of the Israeli defense cited by Haaretz They clarify that the fact does not know.

The information about the probable death of Sinwar – who took command of the organization after Israel Matase last October to the previous leader, his older brother Yahya – had been spreading several days. Netanyahu himself had said in the last days that “probably” was already dead.

Sinwar was the objective of a new Israeli bombing this month in a Hospital in the Strip, the European Hospital, in Jan Yunis, south of Gaza.

His brother Yahya was considered the brain of the attacks of October 7, 2023 who gave rise to the beginning of the Israeli indiscriminate bombing in the strip, when he was the military chief of Hamas. Subsequently, after the murder in July last year in Iran of the political leader of the organization, Ismail Haniyeh, assumed leadership until the Israeli army killed him.
