The president of the Diputación de Badajoz leaves the position to be a regional deputy
The Secretary General of the PSOE and president of the Diputación de Badajoz, Miguel Ángel Gallardo, will enter the Assembly of Extremadura “immediately” as a regional deputy, which will obtain a dealer at a time when oral trial could be opened for the hiring of Pedro Sánchez's brother in the provincial institution.
On this, Gallardo has stressed that being afrado “does not imply immunity, but that the process follows its channel in the corresponding institutions.” “It is true that I transferred that I would not be a deputy until this process ended, but seen how popular accusations try to wing it so that it is not in the assembly, I have made this decision,” he explained.
He also said that former presidents Juan Carlos Rodríguez Ibarra and Guillermo Fernández Vara, who have participated in an interparliamentary meeting of the Extremadura PSOE held today in Mérida, have asked him to be “at the center of politics”.
The judge who has instructed the cause, Beatriz Biedma, issued a processing car on April 28, after which popular accusations (clean hands, vox, make yourself hear, Liberum, Iustitia Europe, Christian lawyers and the PP) have requested the appetive of oral trial and sentences of three years in jail for David Sánchez and for the president of the Diputación. In addition, in their accusation brief they request disqualification for public office for six and 15 years, respectively.
However, the Prosecutor's Office has solved the archive of the case because it considers that there are no “authentic indications of crime”, but rather “hypotheses and conjectures”
To get into the Extremadura Parliament, Gallardo has achieved the resignation of a deputy and the four substitutes, which were included in the list by Guillermo Fernández Vara for the 2023 elections. The current regional chief of the PSOE was the number 23 in the Badajoz candidacy, but the socialists got 16 seats. Of these, two have resigned throughout the legislature: Fernández Vara and Senator Rafael Lemus.
Gallardo has added that his entry into the assembly “is the best way” of becoming known, that Extremadura know “the proposals we make” and to “fight” the government of María Guardiola, which has “privatized” education from 0 to 3 years, which “attacks” public health and equality in the care of older “with greater first and second.”
Gallardo will also leave the Diputación de Badajoz, but it will not be immediately. “I want a quiet, transparent transition, that does not affect the institution, and that will require time,” he said.
